Terri Bonoff ran as a moderate and as a DFLer. She won a special election in a district that leans heavily Republican. Listen as she tells Peter why she was successful.

Terri Bonoff won because the moderate republicans in Minnetonka - who don't have much time for creationism supporting candidates who want to make abortion a criminal offense. Mary Tambornino, a moderate republican who used to serve on the Hennepin County board publicly endorsed Bonoff on Lloydletta's Nooz the day before the election.

I've linked to this post, and commented about the interview on Lloydletta's Nooz.

Finally. Terri Bonoff is doing what desperately needs to be done in politics. Acknowledging that most people share common values and goals and keeping the major device issues out of the conversation. We need more candidates like her.

By the way, this was one of your best podcasts yet. Thank you.
